Downtown Development Experience - Improved downtown Terre Haute by developing a 450 space public parking garage, planned and financed a 600 space parking garage, developed the Crossroads Civic Plaza, the Center City Project (50,000 sq. ft. city-owned mixed-use building that contains residential, office, & retail uses), and 44 apartment units in the upper floors of downtown buildings.
Economic Development Experience - Sold sites in Terre Haute’s Fort Harrison Industrial Park to private companies such as Sony & Ampacet. Participated in economic development trade missions to Germany, Japan, South Korea, Great Britain, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Canada. Obtained approval of development incentive for businesses in Clark County, Indiana and Terre Haute Indiana, such as, Urban Enterprise Zones, Urban Renewal Districts, & Tax Increment Finance Districts.
Housing Development Experience - Directed the renovation of over 300 housing units in Terre Haute. Directed the development of 68 new single-family homes in Terre Haute & 20 new single-family homes in Cumberland, Kentucky. Served as consultant to the developer of the 76-unit Anthony Square senior housing development in Terre Haute. Served as Site Selection Committee Chair for Terre Haute Habitat for Humanity. Prepared 3 successful applications for Low-Income Housing Tax Credits in Terre Haute.
Community Planning Experience – Oversaw the preparation of a Master Development Plan by a consultant for the River Ridge Commerce Center in Clark County, Indiana. Directed the drafting of development plans for the Terre Haute Fort Harrison Industrial Park & Vigo County Industrial Park, Downtown Terre Haute, Sanctified Hill, Sawmill Hollow, & Fairview Hill neighborhood of Cumberland, Kentucky. Directed an update of the Terre Haute Comprehensive Plan. Drafted zoning ordinance amendments for Terre Haute, Louisville & Woodford County, Kentucky. Drafted the first planned unit development zoning ordinance for Louisville and Jefferson County, Kentucky.
Property Management Experience - Managed around 1000 apartments and 70 employees while Acting Director of the Terre Haute Housing Authority. Managed the development and marketing of the Vigo County and Fort Harrison Industrial Parks in Terre Haute. Managed the development and marketing of the River Ridge Commerce Center in Clark County, Indiana. Managed a 900 acre business park in Bowling Green, Kentucky known as the Kentucky Transpark.
Public Finance Experience - Developed projects with tax increment finance bonds, sanitary districts bonds, EDA grants, Community Development Block Grants, Affordable Housing Tax Credits, and State of Indiana loans and grants. Requested and obtained approvals of federal transportation funds for road construction in the River Ridge Commerce Center.
Most Recent Experience - While Vice President for Property Development & Public Policy for the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce completed the construction of Kawanishi Way (900 feet of road) in the South Central Kentucky Industrial Park, completed the construction of a 7, 200 feet railroad spur, and completed construction of a 72,000 sq. ft. & a 108,000 sq. ft. shell speculative industrial building. Achieved CSX “Select Site Certification” for a site in the Kentucky Transpark. Extended Commonwealth Boulevard in the Kentucky Transpark 1000 feet. Relocated a storm water retention basin in the Kentucky Transpark.
